Koh Raet Beaches Facts & Features

  • Location in Relation to Phuket: About 3,650 feet (1,113 m) east of Ao Po Pier on Phuket’s northeast coast.
  • GPS Data: 08° 03` 35” N, 98° 26` 33” E
  • Surrounding Beaches: There are three beaches here, not sure which one could be considered “Koh Raet Beach”. Beaches are located along the east, west, and southern coasts.
  • Direction Facing: Beaches face south and east.
  • Beach Length: 786 meters (2,580 ft.) – We measured the entire length of the beach 1468 ft. + 1112 ft.
  • Beach Width: 13.4 meters (44 ft.) on average.
  • Estimated Beach Area: 10,546 m2 (113,520 square ft.)
  • Beach Quality: There are three beaches on Koh Raet with two of them having nice deep sand with few rocks and the last having a lot of rocks with some sand.
  • Ocean Bottom: Beaches on the south and western coasts seem to have clean shallows where one could wade and swim. The rocky beach on the east coast is full of coral and rocks.
  • Restroom / showers facilities? None.
  • Beach features: This is a small, picturesque island with some nice beaches to look at, but you can’t just pull up and drop anchor and go enjoy the island due to it being private.
  • Public or Private? Entrance fees? Private.
  • Lifeguard Available? No.
  • Boat anchorage possible? No.
  • Boat dock and marina? Small dock for owner’s use.
  • How to reach Koh Raet Island? From Ao Po Pier by longtail boat.
  • Attractions: None.
  • Activities: None.
  • Surfing? No.
  • Sunbeds Available? No.
  • Umbrellas? No.
  • Water quality: Very Good.
  • Convenience shop available? No.
  • Massage available? No.
  • Picnic possible? No
  • Smoking? Thailand authorities are cracking down on smoking at beaches around the country. Soon they expect to make it a country-wide smoking ban – so do stay up to date because fines are high and can include prison time.
  • Warnings: This is a private beach and access is not routinely granted.
